looking for a way to import PST files into Enterprise Vault / Exchange ?
It can be a challenge to choose between the available solutions. I tried to make it easier to decide.
PST Accelerator (PST Accelerator Ltd.) |
PST Import Wizard EV 9 (Symantec) |
PST Capture (Microsoft) |

* The indicated price is the total price for Enterprise Vault 9.x. Enterprise Vault does a lot more than just the PST Imports.
Conclusion
In my opinion, the PST Accelerator tool has far more features than the brand new Microsoft PST import tool.
The PST Accelerator and the PST Import tool in Enterprise Vault have similar functionalities, but the PST Accelerator provides more notification functions and has a nice web interface with reporting capabilities.
The PST Accelerator looks like the best solution to me when you only want to import PST's into Exchange mailboxes.
The Microsoft PST Capture tool is usefull for manually importing some accessable PST's into Exchange mailboxes.
In case an Enterprise Vault environment is already setup, then there is not so much benefit for using the PST Accelerator anymore because the additional cost for this exceeds the additional cost for the PST import wizard ( 0 $ ). I should consider using the PST Import wizard of Enterprise Vault 9.x then.
