Error 6609 when Importing a PST

Error description:

Application error 6609 occurs in eventviewer when running PST Import.br /> 

Symptoms:

Everything goes fine when following the PST import wizard, but in the final stage of the wizard, the import returns an error message: "PST file access error occurred" while all file access and sharing permissions are ok.

Solution:

• open the local/remote path where the pst file resides in an windows explorer window. Use the following format:

\\servername\pstimportdir\

• Using the PST import wizard, at the step where you indicate the pst file, drag the pst file from the previously opened explorer window to the wizard file window.
• Do the above instead of just using the wizard and indicating the pst file using the browse/add pst file buttons. The wizard contains some bugs.
